Talk Description

When considering how automation can be useful in testing, many people think only about identifying difference from some expected behaviour, for example with unit tests.Ā  Much of James's testing is about exploration, about learning, about finding things that might matter that we haven't already thought about. In this talk, James willĀ discuss how heĀ used automation to help himĀ to do that. In particular he'll demo some ways in which heĀ asks questions of the product and use automation to find expedient ways to get answers.

I'm Vice President of the Association for Software Testing, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the advancement of the testing craft. Over the years I've had many roles including developer, technical author, technical support, and manager, but the combination of intellectual, practical, and social challenges in testing are what really excite me. I blogged about my Test.bash() 2022 API Automation Challenge entry in https://qahiccupps.blogspot.com/2022/10/having-testblast.html
